This is incredibly suspicious. The title "Stroke Hits O" is a very unusual way of expressing it (like it WAS a hit!). Keep in mind that it is a Herald-Sun (Illuminati paper) article. The circumstances are very odd too - that he was just walking by himself on a friend's country property? And the friend wasn't there? Or didn't notice that he hadn't come back by 9pm?? There is definitely MUCH more to this story. Also, I think it is very strange that the story wasn't reported until FOUR days after he was found. It is also interesting that they don't mention the pedophile/police investigation, especially given that BP recently (basically) sacked the crooked-pedophile-protecting police officer, and that everything the crooked cop did on the case is now being reviewed (note especially, the last line in the article).

The plot thickens, you might say.

Stroke hits Ombudsman

STATE Ombudsman Dr Barry Perry lay undiscovered in a paddock for several hours after suffering a stroke on Anzac Day.

He is being treated in the Alfred Hospital, where he was yesterday described as being seriously ill. Dr Perry, who is also Deputy Ombudsman (Police Complaints), was walking alone on a friend's property near Daylesford when he collapsed on Friday afternoon. A neighbour was contacted and asked to look for Dr Perry after he failed to return to his Melbourne home as planned that night.

The neighbour found him lying face down about 9pm.

An ambulance took Dr Perry to Daylesford Hospital, then to St John of God Hospital in Ballarat before he was transferred to the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne on Saturday.

Dr Perry, 63, is involved in a number of high profile cases at present.

These include:

OVERSEEING the Victoria Police Ceja taskforce, which is investigating corruption allegations against former drug squad members.

INVESTIGATING police corruption claims made by former detective Denis Tanner.

REVIEWING the State Government's handling of freedom of information requests, which he has said are being unacceptably delayed by poor management and lack of resources.

EXAMINING the alleged unauthorised inspections of the police file of Liberal candidate Matthew Guy during last year's state election.

SCRUTINISING various Melbourne universities over claims they are awarding outside consulting contracts to their own staff.

INVESTIGATING fraud and bribe allegations in relation to a Victoria Police contract with IBM to overhaul the force's computer systems.

Dr Perry was appointed Ombudsman in July 1995, replacing retiring Ombudsman Norman Geschke. He has been Deputy Ombudsman (Police Complaints) since its inception in 1988.

The Ombudsman's office inquires into or investigates complaints against Victorian government departments, public statutory authorities and local council officers.

Complaints about police are lodged both with the Ombudsman and directly with police.

The Ombudsman investigates some complaints against police, but refers most to police for investigation by them and then reviews that police investigation.

He reviews all internally generated police investigations into alleged misconduct by police officers.
