Police in West Yorkshire have
arrested a woman in connection with
allegations of child prostitution.
Officers raided an address in Bradford
and arrested a 47-year-old woman.
Two girls, aged 13 and six, have been
taken into police protection and are
now being cared for by social services.
A spokesman for West Yorkshire
police said: "Acting on information
from the News of the World in relation
to alleged sexual exploitation of
children through prostitution, we
arrested a 47-year-old woman. Our
inquiries are continuing."
The arrest took place after the News
of the World handed a dossier to
police, which included video evidence,
alleging the girls had been sexually
abused for two years.
A spokeswoman for the News of the
World said the arrest followed a
meeting between the newspaper's
investigations editor, Mazher
Mahmood, and West Yorkshire
Police's child protection unit.
The investigation comes in the wake of
the newspaper's For Sarah campaign
which aims to bring about new
legislation for the protection of
children from paedophiles.
