Y2K - WHAT HAPPENED?

I've been wanting to get around to a wrap up comment on Y2K, but, "stuff" comes up everyday that keeps me from getting to some things I should have gotten to sooner. Having said that, I was bludgeoned to death with the direst of warnings about Y2K for most of 1999; below is an example of the typical e-mail:

From: harvest

Subject: CAI! WARNING

General Staff analysis of all currently available intelligence.

Under the guise of a Y2K emergency the New World Order will be established in the united States of America by military force sometime between the middle of 1999 or the first quarter of 2000. All borders will be sealed to prevent the escape of any person. An attempt will be made to capture and incarcerate all American Patriots and politically incorrect persons. Relocation of a significant portion of the population will be attempted.

You are advised to take all necessary steps now to be ready to engage in military action in order to prevent the literal enslavement of the American People.

Commanding General

Second Continental Army of the Republic

I saw a thousand of these kinds of e-mail during 1999. I had a good laugh over 99% of them and kept remembering the story about the little boy who cried wolf. "All borders will be sealed to prevent the escape of any person." Get serious. How the hell did the sender of this e-mail expect anyone to "seal" the thousands of miles of borders encircling the USA? Think about it.

"An attempt will be made to capture and incarcerate all American Patriots and politically incorrect persons." And just who was supposed to pull off this feat of magic? There isn't enough military, UN or national guard in this country to just head on out Saturday morning and "capture" 20 or 30 million people, even if 25% of them were hung-over from New Year's eve.

"Relocation of a significant portion of the population will be attempted." Again, just who was supposed to pull this off? One thing people need to understand, and this isn't just some brain flash of mine, it's common sense: In order to pull of marital law, you must have the cooperation of the population, the military, law enforcement and national guard. That isn't going to happen now or in the near future because there isn't the support for martial law from enough of any of those sectors. The scenario hasn't been created yet that would get the majority of the people of this country on their knees. The only flash point I can see would be if the arrogant Unseen Hand decides to go for the guns in an outright ban and that would be a huge mistake on their part. A huge mistake.

Besides, who needs martial law to control this country? The power mongers behind the scenes already own the White House, the Congress, the monetary system, the media, the governors and state legislatures and the money. Oh, there may be a handful of state legislators and a half dozen or so members of Congress with some notions of honor, dignity and who really understand what's going on, but that number is too tiny to make any difference because they won't do what needs to be done. There is a way for as few as six members of Congress to blow the lid off this whole thing but they refuse to do it, and yes, it has been suggested and met with silence. With control of the lawmakers and the money, the Unseen Hand has extended their control over the public "education" system, dumbing down the millions, school year after school year after school year.

With rogue operations like the IRS, they are stealing us blind to keep the masses fed, watered and a few nickels ahead with lots and lots of credit cards so the cattle buy into this illusion called a "robust, booming economy." The money masters print up the money they need to destroy US and the people keep charging away all across this country in what I can only describe as insanity. Between American's going hog-wild in spending -- and not putting money in a savings account for their "golden years," America's addiction to drugs, alcohol, pornography and other social diseases, who the heck needs martial law to effect the submission of a people? Why the dumb-bells in this country are walking right to the slaughter house, eyes wide open, brains dead as driftwood.

There are a couple of guys sitting over here in the federal jail, Kiles & Patterson, who apparently bought into all this hype and will probably spend the rest of their lives in prison. (If you want to know more about them, use the search engine on this site). That is not to place the blame for their predicament on the sender above, everyone is responsible for their own actions. For those who read the Y2K posts on this site after it went up in November '98, I warned people to be prudent, be cautious but don't go into orbit over material from people like Dr. Gary North and others. It appears that Mr. Kiles, Mr. Patterson and a fellow out in Florida by the name of Beauregard, believed the hype and now are paying the price; so are their families.

The general population really had no idea what was going to happen with this computer "crisis." It was for sure that many companies had been working this computer glitch problem for years. It was for sure that many people would be affected by some sort of massive breakdown in the computer world, if something happened. I thought long and hard about a potential meltdown. I attended seminars and read scads of material by those in the industry. The one thing I kept in the forefront of my mind was the banking cartel and their stake in this "crisis." It is one of the reasons why I believed we would experience some breakdowns and malfunctions but no way would the end of the world arrive January 1st nor would the Ruskies "accidentally" launch a nuke at us.

Y2K didn't come off completely without a hitch. Here and there, we see some government (state or federal) agencies have limited computer snags that might be attributed to the roll over or could just be the nature of the beast. There was bound to be some disruption from this date change, so these breakdowns I've been reading about didn't come as any surprise. We will probably see glitches and systems failures here and there for the next couple of years as upgraded systems work out the bugs. Remember: computers are always breaking down for one reason or another, it's what keeps people like my web master employed full time.

Social security checks went out on time, as did government payroll and welfare checks. The IRS is still limping along in its illegal and bungling state, backed up by America's finest thugs over in the ATF and FBI. Once in a while you see a date crop up on the computer or a document from some company that reads 2035 or something like that. But, for the most part, Y2K didn't live up to the billing.

Now, some people had a real problem with that. Those who hocked their homes and moved into the desert or mountains, those who stocked their garage with 500 cans of tuna and installed 100-gallon water drums in their backyards - well, they're quite PO'd. I had people call me the first two weeks of the year and bellyache because they spent thousands and thousands of dollars on food and survival gear, only to suffer this huge emotional (and financial) let-down.

Dan Chittock, who runs the Preparedness Expos, has about the best response to this as I think can be found: How many people call their insurance agent on December 31st and complain that they paid their insurance all year but are mad because their house didn't burn down? Getting prepared for a possible meltdown over Y2K and the computer world wasn't a huge emotional or financial burden for me and John. We were prepared for a few weeks disruption and we have been debt free since 1993. To us, we were just buying some additional insurance from what we normally carry. It's been great in some ways: I didn't have to run to the commissary and buy as much because what we purchased, we have been consuming.

Being prepared for any kind of disaster is just plain smart. Keeping extra food, medical supplies, water, blankets, candles, flash lights, a good short wave radio and some gold or silver is just smart planning. Natural disasters can happen in a heartbeat and being prepared is tantamount to reducing tragedy. John and I are not sorry we had a little extra on hand and we continue to be disaster prepared by rotating goods.

Unfortunately, there were a lot of charlatans out there scaring the hell out of people and who were in Y2K for the money, period. They played on people's fears (and greed) and many were taken for a ride equal to any amusement park roller coaster. The world is full of con artists and one should always evaluate a problem fully and check sources out carefully before making any commitments. One of areas hardest hit by the hysteria, I think, was the area of religion. The hype that was rammed down the throats of devout Christians was terrible to behold. Scaring all those people to death, my word. When the end of the world comes, our heavenly Father will be sure to let everyone know about it. In the meantime, I don't know about you, but I don't think God wants us to just sit around and wring our hands, lamenting, "Woe is unto me." I believe he wants us to fight the evil trying to enslave our nation.

The tax movement is rife with crack-pots and rip-off artists, same as the environmental greenie movement. The tree huggers are being manipulated and brainwashed, the same as so many people in the tax movement or the medical field and many other areas. You just have to do your homework and make the best judgment call you can.

The big question is why was Y2K such a pussycat? The following comes from a newspaper that I always highly recommend people subscribe to, The Idaho Observer. It's excellent, it's a real newspaper and you can visit them on-line at www.proliberty.com/observer

An Explanation For The Greatest Anticlimax in World History?

Most of us are reeling from the implications of a much-touted Y2K that never happened. We are conducting personal inventories and, many of us, are feeling a little silly. The following missive from Larry Becraft is the most likely explanation that has yet to surface:

"In linear terms, there is a crude method (or subtle art form) for getting people to move from point "A" to point "B" as quickly as possible: the stampede. From the old cowboy movies, we all recall how Rowdy destroyed the cattle rustlers' camp; he fired his guns in the air to get the buffalo to stampede over it. People act in the same way, and proof of this is shouting "fire" in a crowded theater. At Halloween, small children can be sent scurrying down the sidewalk in the opposite direction when the "ghost" jumps out from behind the fence. All sorts of people can be made as a group to move in a certain direction by simply cutting off an avenue of movement by erecting some real or imaginary danger in the way.

This stampede technique does not entirely depend upon fear as a method of getting people to move, and "attraction" can be used for the same purpose. Department stores advertise sales to attract a stampede of customers. Goal posts will attract excited fans of the winning team at the end of a game. A picnic with fireworks on July 4 can bring a huge crowd. Fear and attraction can get people to move.

The stampede technique can be used not only linearly but temporally as well, and predictions of good or bad in the future can scurry people away from certain future conduct or attract them. Fear of death stampedes people to insurance companies and churches. The desire to have a good time attracts many people to plan vacations to Disneyland. Predictions of wars, recessions and economic booms cause stock markets and all sorts of people to plan and act accordingly.

There can be no doubt that central planners are building a giant spy network in our country, which will be capable of watching us all in real time. This system will track everyone's purchases, payments, activities and movements via concealed cameras, digital identifiers, scanners, transmitters and implants. But of course this spy network will depend greatly upon computer systems, and computer technology is making quantum leaps. If events unfold naturally, it will take a specific amount of time to build this network. To speed up the arrival of this system, one of the above stampede techniques could be used.

If the government wished to hasten the day when the spy network comes online, laws could have been passed to require people, businesses and companies to make improvements to their computer systems, but this compulsion might have been too obvious and people might have detected plans for the police state's erection. Now, a few days after the Y2K deadline, we learn that billions have in fact been spent here in the United States to vastly improve our computers; and the morning papers are touting that, as a result (having spent far more than the rest of the world combined), we now have the "computer advantage." Something stinks about this whole story: fear was used to get people to move in a certain direction, and that course involved the significant improvement of our computers. This might be entirely wrong, but it is difficult to not think that we have been subjected to the stampede technique to push us closer to the erection of the giant spy network."

Larry Becraft

* * *

I think that Larry is right on point here. Back in 1998, the first little glimmers of something called Y2K came out in Dr. Gary North's newsletter. This wasn't the first discussion on the issue as I soon found out, although not until much later. If you're in the computer industry, you know this little date roll-over was being discussed years and years ago. The average American knew nothing about it because it simply wasn't in the everyday scope of living, working and playing, nor was the "mainstream" media doing any talking about it. Then came people like Gary North talking about a computer problem that went from fixing to the end of the world.

By mid-1999, the dooms-dayers and those who were in the Y2K arena to make lots of money, pushed hard on the worst case scenario. People like me, Geoff Metcalf and many others, listened to computer experts and recommended common sense and caution. What I saw take place is what Larry has described above.

First we had the subject matter introduced into the public's awareness level. Next we had this computer problem being pushed as the end of the world and complete and utter financial meltdown world-wide. Fear- mongering. I knew this wasn't going to happen because the world banking cartel will let nothing happen to their trillions. I knew they would protect their money pipelines first.

Next we had all kinds of crazy and wacky conspiracy theories about martial law, UN troops, relocation camps and all the other silly stuff that has branded everyone working to restore America to a constitutional Republic, nothing more than a bunch of wackos. This, of course, was deliberate and sadly, too many well meaning people assisted the shellacking we've all taken by the media and politicians.

Then the plan went so smoothly, ya gotta give these guys credit. The shadow government created panic about social security checks not arriving on the 1st of the month, federal and state employee retirement checks not arriving, Medicare and Medicare checks/payments would not be processed, every level of welfare assistance would not be available on the first of the month. Panic. State governments would break down and not issue checks to contractors/vendors. Panic. Water companies and sewage companies wouldn't be ready and America would become the parched land with neighbors fighting neighbors for a sip of fluoride. Panic.

I tried to tell people that these utility companies and many other suppliers of public services didn't want those kinds of horrible things to happen. I kept telling people that, while the people who work for these utility companies may not know what you and I do about this world government madness, neither do they want their own families to suffer from Y2K chaos. People didn't listen - the panic was being beat into them and as Larry said above, their direction was changed, the stampede began and they were moved in the desired direction.

This fit right into the plan of the Unseen Hand. There has been this huge surge in government snooping, creation of huge government data banks and attempted tracking of our every move. The biggest thrust for these huge government data banks and snooping has come from Bonny & Clod over there in the White House.

Millions and millions of us have balked and resisted this kind of crap. Updating the computer systems of agencies like the NSA, FBI, ATF, the rogue operation called the IRS, and others, would cost double-digit billions of dollars conveniently not in the pre-approved budgets. As Larry said, in order not to alert the population as to the real agenda of the worldsters, a situation had to be created where the people were moved to demand the money be spent to give America the "computer advantage" and stave off this financial meltdown and backed-up toilets.

It didn't take long. Congress was deluged with phone calls from senior citizens demanding they appropriate the money to "fix" social security's computers. Phone calls rained down on the White House from people demanding that the Slickster and First Dirt Bag work with the governors of the states to ensure a smooth transition into the new millennium, which by the way, isn't until January 2001. First the problem was created, then the "crisis" was cleverly worked so that the people demanded that the government spend the money to fix the problem. In the end what happened? All these government snooping agencies, at the demand of the people, got the funding they needed to expand and enlarge their capabilities and folks, we ain't seen nothing yet.

Besides, Larry, I think that Tupper Saussey used the perfect example in his book, Rulers of Evil, page 130, of how the people were manipulated over this Y2K "crisis":

"Of the process of "making the enemy" move as one wishes," Sun-tzu wrote: "The great science is to make him desire everything you wish him to do & to provide him with all the means to help you in this, without his realizing it."

While Tupper was referring to a different subject matter, the outcome was the same here in America. Panic was created by skillful propaganda. Along with the panic came the desire by the panicked to have the generals help solve the problem. Niftier still, the panicked then solved the trickier problem of public exposure of the real agenda, something not desired by the generals. The panicked themselves obfuscated the real reason they were being driven in a certain direction because they panicked and missed the clues to the puzzle. Diabolical, but it worked to a T.

The people are the enemy of the Unseen Hand. We are the power that can stop this move towards a one-world totalitarian nightmare and that makes us the enemy of those who wish to enslave the world. Unfortunately, most of the American population is still running around treating the symptoms with "We'll remember in November," or "gay love is real love" and other such nonsense while the real work is being done behind the curtain, i.e. the Wizard of Oz.

There are many angry people out there over the Y2K fizzle. Don't let it get you down. Everyone learns from their mistakes and hopefully becomes a better person for it. I hope that in the future, people will be on the lookout for more manipulation such as we saw and be better prepared to deal with it. That's not to say that this computer roll-over didn't present a problem for lots of systems, it did and probably will for some time. Even though the Y2K "crisis" didn't live up to it's billing, don't relax your guard. Now that the government super-snoopers have all this advanced technology, think that they just want to let it sit idle? Think again.
