I have been receiving quite a volume of e-mails with channelings, speculations and queries regarding the upcoming August 11th solar eclipse that features a new moon at 18 degrees leo opposite uranus in the 15th degree of aquarius and squaring both mars and saturn in the 17th degree of scorpio and taurus. This fixed cross in the lion, eagle, ox and angel/man spoken of by the prophet Ezekiel was noted by Nostradamus in 1550 with a quatrain that translates as "in the year 1999 and seven months, from the sky will come the great king of terror. He will bring back the great king of the mongols. Before and after, war reigns happily. (Mars to reign by good fortune)."
If you are interested in delving deeper into Nostradamus, I suggest that you read Nicholas Campion's article in the June/July issue of The Mountain Astrologer. Many astrologers have been deeply concerned about the karmic smoldering that has been taking place in Kosovo. Light workers, peace keepers and earth co-creators have been focusing tremendous meditational energy to put out the tribal fire in the field of blackbirds. There have been concerns that the smoldering in the Balkans would somehow jumpstart ethnic feuding in neighboring countries(Turkey/Greece; Turkey/Syria; Israel/Iran).
In fact, the eclipse path does travel through some of these danger zones, and it is likely that all of these countries will be in the news in the months that follow the August 11th eclipse. At a recent IIIHS conference in Montreal, Noel Tyl suggested that the most auspicious thing that would happen on that day would be the birth of a generation of individuals on the planet who will have an extraordinary impact in the 21st century. (2032 to be specific). Most astrologers envision a more immediate and dramatic impact.
In a recent article from Dan Furst on the upcoming Grand Cross alignments, he points out that there will be, in fact, two grand crosses, one on August 11th (the solar eclipse) and one on August 17th (the 12th anniversary of harmonic convergence). Sandwiched between these two dates is the August 13th "Day of Destiny", a prophetic date decoded by John Mini from the Aztec calendar. For my part, rather than attempting to interpret Nostradamus or make specific political/economic/environmental predictions, I want only to share something of the degree symbolism for the planets involved, drawn from the world of Hebrew gematria.
For the eclipse of August 11th the new moon falls in the 19th degree of leo. The gematria here is 139 degrees. The first Hebrew gematria I notice is the word ahhalek which translates as I will divide. I interpret this to mean that the eclipse at this degree is a kind of border crossing for our consciousness evolution. The next gematria is ha'peedim meaning the redeemed. The root here implies a kind of karmic rectification process.
The next gematria comes from the phrase ba'al halave. I translate this phrase as: master of the heart or master of the paths of the Tree-of-Life. I interpret this to mean that the eclipse will effectively open us up to the shadow side of the human heart, allowing us to come to a space of deeper integration and mastery. Perhaps the most fascinating gematria is gan elohim. This phrase translates as garden of Elohim. It appears in Ezekiel 28/13. It is in reference to melehh tzor, translated as the King of Tyre, or the King of Narrow Straights. This passage goes on to speak of a leader/country who once walked in the midst of the stones of fire, whose heart was lifted up because of beauty and who will be brought to ashes upon the earth, astonishing the surrounding nations. The pure gematria gan elohim may actually be an astronomical reference.
I would like to quote here from my soon to be published (God willing) epic poem Aleph2160. This is the text for the 19th degree of leo:
For those of us who chose to be positioned in the path of totality, it might just be that a meteorite shower may come into view during the time of the eclipse!
The position of the planet uranus, which opposes the sun/moon conjunction is 14 degrees 40 minutes aquarius. The 14th degree of aquarius is the gematria of the being that kabbalah refers to as Metatron. Metatron is called "the Prince of the Presence." The key gematria for the 15th degree is the word gevish, which is the contemporary Hebrew word for crystal. Kabbalistically it means boundary of existence. The first black hole ever to be discovered is at the 14th degree of aquarius. The energy of the planet uranus here involves a repolarization of earth's electromagnetic field. I quote from both the 14th and 15th degree of aquarius in Aleph2160:
Who among us can approach singularity enter the worm-hole and spin surrender your light body let it all unwind are we ready to dance with the void? all our vows vanities passions of the mind even our chromosomes dissolve our force fields implode angels of all dimensions intertwine Look! Metatron standing in the Portal waves of light pulse thru us like a heartbeat
A voice calls out: Yehoel Shaddai "Be not rebellious against him" The only thing that keeps us apart in space is time Yehoel keep an eye on us be with us as our guide Are we ready for this voyage ...
The position of the planet saturn is 16 degrees taurus 52 minutes at the time of the eclipse. Some astrologers have interpreted this square from saturn in taurus to the sun/moon leo opposite uranus to indicate a sudden and dramatic correction to our prevailing economic condition. Something that would impact global currencies/stock markets/resources. The position of saturn is at the 17th degree of taurus, or the 47th degree of the zodiac. One key gematria here is b'tul which translates as nullification. It is a term often used in Habad kabbalah to refer to the process of egoic nullification or the emptying of personality into the greater river of Self. The second key gematria is the phrase key-tov meaning because it is good. The stanza from Aleph2160 goes as follows:
Listen to the voice of Hakim in the queen's chamber Ki Tov: because it is good to let go of the little self B'Tul: empty all images dreams and desires into the river as it flows into the greater ema ocean we call divine source we crawl into the ark tayva we come home at night ema we let go of all our little upsets attachments resentments that keep us from going with the flow
The final planet in the Grand Cross Solar Eclipse of 1999 is the planet mars, which forms a very tight opposition to saturn. The position of mars is 16 degrees scorpio 50 minutes. Many sensitives and lightworkers have experiened tremendous internal tensions, energetic shifts and health problems during the time that mars was retrograding back through scorpio into late libra. The passage of mars through scorpio from the kabbalistic standpoint is a time of karmic correction and redistribution of resources in a more equitable and just way. Many hidden agendas and subconscious motivations come to light as mars moves through the sign that it rules during the night (or during the duat). In this particular set up the decisive action that mars would like to take is restrained by the saturn opposition (perhaps after a sudden release of energy two days earlier when mars squares uranus, possible earthquake indicator here).
The gematria for the position of mars is 17 degress scorpio/227. This is the gematria for the Hebrew words blessing - brahha, navel - tibur, to remember - zahhar, and a few others which you will find nested in the 227th degree of Aleph2160:
It is time to remember your place of birth your first incarnation your first breath ruahh ahavah your first taste at the spring of prophecy the first time you bathed in the violet flame open your navel to the stars take in one breath aur ehiyeh the light of your being as you emanate the force behind energy & within matter be mindful of this blessing
As you can see, the gematria hint at the kind of consciousness growth that is possible for us individually during this dramatic release of energy that will take place on the planet in the time period just before and during the months following the August 11th eclipse. I will refrain from interpreting/outlining the impact of the second grand cross on August 17th, 1999.
