Lady Diana brought our attention to the horror of landmines.
Bob Geldof
reminded us
of the plight of the world's hungry.
But why on Earth should these things be
happening?
Man has landed on the moon!
Why must we suffer war before we want to live in peace?
Why must millions face hardship and starvation before we want to feed the
World?
The Earth is a Paradise. Haven't we all at one time or another, said
something like,
"Wow, look---isn't that beautiful!!!"
And yet for thousands of years mankind has ferociously waged war on itself.
As long as we go on believing in "two sides", then nothing will change...
There are no winners in an illusion.
The Earth IS a beautiful planet. Like a mirror it reflects the beauty that
is in the
Beholder. It doesn't know or care "what side" we're on!
Some time ago, I saw a
large poster on public display. It showed a group of cheerful, sports-clad
youngsters running free. Beneath, it said, "Seek Peace And Pursue It!"
But
this to me, is not a message about freedom. Far from it, the poster is
saying, "You are not free, and never will be!" Here is a form of mass
mind control, prevalent in all walks of society, and by unconsciously
succumbing to it, we are allowing ourselves to be "led up the garden path".
For example, we hear, "Both sides must get around the negotiating table, and
settle their differences." Or- "A peace agreement has to be reached that is
acceptable to both sides".
The public's unquestioning acceptance of
this AGE OLD ILLUSION means that at every given moment, great swathes of
humanity are needlessly suffering, while leading statesmen, humanitarians
etc., and members of various organisations are all out there working for a
solution. We are always looking for somebody or something to save us,
whether it is a "Second Coming", or E.T's from outer space.
Thousands of
Americans payed and queued up to watch, not the main film, but a trailer of
the latest Star Wars movies. People long to be saved, but look everywhere
outside themselves.
It has been said that all the world is a stage. The
world today is more than that, it is a movie. When we read, listen to, or
watch the news, we are not getting any "news" at all. We are being given the
latest "movie news". We can look on the whole thing as a movie, because that
is all it is.
We can change that. A good place to begin is within ourselves.
We can think of the wonders of a sunset, the peace and beauty of a starry
night, the glory of the sunrise, and quietly ask ourselves,
The late, assassinated, John Lennon wrote a song called "Imagine". Imagine what the World would be like if it were not a Movie. We would all be real people, living real lives, with real hope, real loves, and a real future. Think deeply about it.
