MUSSELSHELL, Montana (AP) -- Gov. Marc Racicot declared a state of emergency Tuesday for 32 counties in eastern Montana because of dry, windy conditions feeding a 33,000-acre fire in the central part of the state.

The governor's action authorizes quick use of National Guard personnel and equipment if authorities need help against the fire -- which began Saturday as 11 separate blazes ignited by lightning -- or any others that spring up.

The fire raged near the prairie town of Musselshell, population 50, but firefighters took advantage of a break in the windy conditions Tuesday and said the town was no longer threatened. They expect the fire to be controlled by Thursday or Friday.

I have also noticed that, in time of a Supernova window, the inborn navigational system of whales gets obstructed, resulting in incomprehensible beaching or mass suicide.
