It is my observatioin most liberals subscribe to at least 3 different moral standards! They switch between them on the fly- in the middle of a sentence if necessary. But only one standard is for personal use. The remaining two reserved for others. This is how I believe it works. Let's call them the "us", the "me" and the "them" standards.
"Us" moral standard benefits fellow liberals. Ends judstifying means. Situation ethics. The "no standard" standard. Let's say some well known liberal steps over the line. Biased media promptly goes to work devising creative excuses, emotional appeals and tortured logic in his/her defense. In addition lambast the accusers. Thousands if not millions of supporters embrace the tangled web plus add some of their own and run with it.
"Me" standard on the other hand show them on good behaviour. Few liberals would engage in shoplifting for example. Most would never dream of it. But- as explained- they would defend much worse by fellow liberals whenever the opportunity and need arises.
"Them" standard on the other hand is heavy artillery aimed at "the opposition". It is Judeo-Christian ethics with a vengeance. Trifles registered as serious crime. Infractions- even assumed infractions- confronted with feigned horror: How could he/she? Newt Gingrich (not a favorite of mine by the way) was vilified and presented a monstrous fine for being investigated without cause. I haven't heard a single liberal object! Adding insult to injury he was expected to receive no help paying the fine-.
An observer from outer space might conclude liberals, in spite of claimed compassion act abrasive and aggressive. Multiple standards is called hypocrisy or double standard. (Triple standard?).
Another designation- political correctness. Which means inconsistency for the sake of winning. So, winning appears as liberals' true religion. Those standing in the way--beware!
A favorite in their arsenal of weapons is simply stirring up trouble. Creating solutions worse than the problem. Cures worse than the disease because it gives rise to multiple laws to reign in everybody. Their goal is control.
Aside from that most liberals are nice people but on a slippery slope to a socialist hell, taking us along for the ride. Maybe we should have had conistency training starting in kindergarten?
