The Weather Has Been Too Quiet Over The Last Several Days...01/13/00
by Mitch Battros (ECTV)
But that is going to change once again very quickly. There has been a series of M-Class flares which started two days ago. If my
research is correct, we should be experiencing another escalation of weather in areas of our Earth within 48 hours. Yes, I mean "records"
being broke yet again.
In addition, according to NASA, today's sunspot count is 204. This has surpassed NASA's prediction of a maximum apex for "Cycle 23"
which is 150. Today shows a count of 54 sunspots over what the maximum was supposed to be in March/April 2000 when this cycle
reaches its apex.
On another note, the "global warming" arguments heat up (pun intended). The article below indicates many scientist state firmly the
weather phenomenon we are experiencing, has little to do with humans, meaning fossil fuel and other manmade pollutants.
My research would be consistent with their analogy.
As most of you know, I have stated the weather escalation is directly related to our Sun and its cycle. Not the "Cycle 23" NASA
indicates to be a routine 11 cycle, but a "Mega Cycle" which may occur every hundreds of thousands of years (exact number unknown).
I do want to reiterate what I stated some months ago. Although I believe the Earth would experience this escalation of weather we are
seeing today "even if there were no humans on Earth", we do indeed contribute a very significant amount. Based on information I have
viewed, our human contribution to "global warming" is approximately 17% to 20%. This is certainly a large amount in which we do have
a choice. I encourage every nation to be responsible in every way in helping reduce the contribution and escalation of our rapidly
changing climate.
Scientists Report Warmer Earth...01/13/00
By H. Josef Hebert - Associated Press Writer
WASHINGTON (AP) _ Despite conflicts in temperature data, there is strong evidence of an accelerated warming of the Earth's surface
during the past 20 years, a panel of the National Academy of Sciences concluded Wednesday. Still the panel hedged on whether the
warming will continue or whether it is tied to the ``greenhouse effect'' caused by manmade pollution of the atmosphere.
``There is a high level of confidence among the panel members that the surface temperature is indeed rising,'' said John Wallace,
panel chairman and professor of atmospheric sciences at the University of Washington. But, he added, that does not necessarily mean
the warming is due to manmade greenhouse gasses ``nor are we saying it's necessarily going to continue to accelerate in the future.'' The
20-year record is too short to make definitive statements as to how the atmosphere is changing in the long term, he said.
But the panel of 11 scientists said the warming of the earth during the past two decades ``is undoubtedly real and is substantially greater
than the average rate of warming during the 20th century.'' The recent decades has seen some of the warmest years on record, scientists
have said.
The panel included a wide range of views on climate change including James Hansen of the Goddard Institute for Spaces Studies, who is
a strong proponent of the greenhouse effect, and Roy Spencer a senior climate scientist at NASA, who developed the satellite
temperature data.

Sunspot Count Continues To Rise, Solar Flares To Follow...01/14/00
by Mitch Battros (ECTV)
Todays sunspot count is 218. This is now a count of 68 sunspots more than NASA's prediction of their highest count for "Cycle 23"
which 150. And of course remember, it is only January. The maximum count is yet to come in March/April.
NASA has now stated on their web site; " major flare activity is likely. Sunspot group #8824 has developed a complex beta-gamma-delta
magnetic field. It is the largest sunspot group on the sun and a possible site for M-class and X-class eruptions."
As stated in previous article, look for more "record" breaking weather to follow.

China Quakes Kill 4, Injure 220...01/15/00
BEIJING (AP) -- Two earthquakes collapsed about 4,000 buildings in southwest China on Saturday, killing at least four people and
injuring 220, officials said.
Yao'an County, in province of Yunnan, was first hit by a 6.0-magnitude quake that sent people scurrying out of their homes in the early
morning. About 1 1/2 hours later, the county was hit by an even stronger aftershock, of 6.5 magnitude, said a county seismologist who
gave only his surname, Su.
Four people were killed, said a Yunnan government seismologist, surnamed Wu, without specifying how they died. Another 220 were
injured and 4,000 buildings collapsed, said the State Seismology Bureau in Beijing.
The main compound of Yao'an's government headquarters was seriously damaged, and power in the area was cut, the state-run Xinhua
News Agency said. The authorities and media did not specify which tremor caused which damages and injuries.
In the town of Guantun, 18 miles from Yao'an, the early morning quakes woke tens of thousands of people and sent residents flocking
into the streets, Xinhua said.
A strong tremor also was felt in the provincial capital Kunming, about 125 miles to the east of Yao'an, it said. Yao'an was also hit by a
6.5-magnitude quake in 1962, and a 5.6-magnitude quake on August 14, 1993, Xinhua said.

Wind Storm Kills, Power Outage To 250,000 Homes
520 Bridge in Seattle
Closed... 01/16/00
by Mitch Battros (ECTV)
High winds roared into Washington State late Sunday morning, knocking out power and killing one
person.
The death occurred in Lacey in Thurston County. Authorities report a tree fell on a car, killing the driver instantly. Tens of
thousands were without power all over the Western half of the state as winds howled through the area. Utilities estimated the
total number of customers without power at over 250,000. No word as to when all the power will be restored..... The 520
bridge across Lake Washington was closed to help prevent damage to the structure.... Ferry service across the Sound is
cancelled until the wind subsides.
A high wind warning remains effect for all of Western Washington. Gusts over 65 mph are expected Sunday night, mostly
North of Seattle. Several live interviews stated "it seemed to come out of nowhere".
I believe this to be directly related to the series of M-Class Flares which occurred just 72 hours ago. This is within the
predicted period it takes the Suns solar activity to hit our earth.
Unfortunately there is more to report. The sunspot count has now reached 268. This is a 118 sunspot count increase over the
"Cycle 23", 11 year prediction. Again, more evidence we are NOT in an 11 year cycle, but a "Mega Cycle". If calculations
are correct, we should expect to see X-Class or M-Class flares to follow within 48 hours. After the event of the solar flares
we should then experience even more severe weather within 72 hours of the flares.
Sunspot activity = solar flares = magnetic shift = severe weather escalation. Stay tuned !!!
